At what Temp. does tin start to oxide out of an alloy ? And will fluxing put it back, or is it just burnt up ?

750-f.
yes you can flux the oxides back into the mix.
it requires an oxygen free barrier to get it done, fortunately fire provides that barrier.
to clean and help the alloy bind together properly a process called carbourization is used.
here is where saw dust is your friend [heck leaves and dry grass work too], I combine the burnt remnants from the saw dust with some wax to get the desired affect.
pine is my favorite.
I also like to use resin/rosin from a pine tree it's free too...

Thank you, That is what I need to know to start culling molds to the classifieds. All of my molds function perfectly at 730-740 * measured on three (3) different thermometers, one how ever requires 800-850*
.
.
Life is to short to smoke cheap cigars, drink cheap scotch, and deal with a mold that has to be run that hot AND requires serious beating to free 2 or 3 bullets from a 6 cavity mold
