Do you guys think this lube groove will hold enough lube for a 38 special with black powder in a 20" carbine? I live in a hot dry climate. about like Las Vegas but 5 degrees cooler. I have shot some 358311 out of my pistols and they were fine. This boolits lube groove is slightly wider and deeper and square so it will hold more lube.

Thanks, Bardo

360640 next to the 358311. The 360640 should give me more room for powder.

Looks great to me. Do you mix your own lube with black? If so, what is it? I like 50-50 beeswax and Crisco.

I have been messing around with making my own lube. Will the beeswax Crisco go rancid? I was trying some with synthetic oil. shot fine out of revolvers and minnies out of a muzzle loader. but that is all I have tried it in. I do have a extra star sizer for black powder lube.

The beeswax-Crisco is not shelf stable for years. 4 parts beeswax to 1 part of mineral oil, USP is.

No idea how well it will work for you with BP, but I can tell you it is the most accurate boolit I have tested at 50 yds. I have groups as small as .9" from my K-38, with about a 1.5" average. Great design.

Ya I have had this boolit awhile and it is very accurate but so is the 358311. I have liked all the "640" designs.
