Of all the LER scope mounts I designed and made this one for the Gewehr 98 Lange-Visor rear sight is the one I'm happiest with. Its the strongest most stable scope mount of its kind. I'm not aware of any other scope mount made anywhere for this rifle that requires no modification to the rifle. If you know of one let me know as I'd like to peruse it.

This is a 4x32 NcStar pistol scope but I now have the 2-7x32 NcStar mounted as it has better eye relief and more magnification.

I always try and buy loose rear sights like this to use for prototyping in the shop. These Lange-Visor sights are not commonly seen and not inexpensive when in VG or better condition.

This is a $150 scope mount. Its scratch made and took a lot of time in and out of the milling machine to get it just right. And yet I have three areas that I want to change: 1-two screws instead of three. Just don't need three. 2- I want one inch or three-quarters more rail towards the shooter's eye. 3- And probably add one more cross slot at each end for ring spacing.

The 1891 Peruvian Mauser, 1909 Peruvian Mauser and some 1893 Spanish Mausers use the Lange-Visor rear sight but I don't know if they're dimensionally identical to the Gewehr 98.

I'm not currently making any LER scope mounts and I don't particularly care if anyone copies this one. I've had queries from Germany and elsewhere on this one.

Good scope mount. It reminds me of a beeman scope mount, the kind that is integral with the scope. Great job.

Sorry, I have no interest in developing a LER mount for the K98k.

Nice mount, not simple to make, but it should be extremely secure and stable over
time. Well thought out.

Not making any more of this type. Wasn't enough demand.

There are no drawings of this mount. I assume that's what you want to know.. Feel free to copy the design.

if I had not already done so here, I will specify that often the sleeve that houses the rear sight is press fitted and soldered.
it happened to me that the sleeve loosened and rotated after some shots carrying a Weaver 4x LER scope.
the mount was a slightly improved B-Square.
this is due to the greater inertia as a function of the greater weight on the sleeve under the recoil with full charges in K98k_
fortunately it was a commemorative Mauser, therefore of no historical value, but it's not an experiment that I intend to repeat.

ok thanks anyway for the reply , i will find out by myself slowly , now i have the idea for what to do , because i am 65 and it is very difficult to align the sights http://castboolits.gunloads.com/images/smilies/custom/veryconfused.gif
and also in my club the max is 100 meters ans on the G98 it start at 400 meters so as on my hunting rifle i need a red dot or a scope

I made a LER mount using The Dutchman’s design for my sons 6.5x55 Mauser 96 ,it’s a brilliant design and worked a treat, unfortunately he prefers the original open sights, so my masterpiece sits idle!! Mal in au.
