Hello Im looking for a alternate pistol powder for AA# 2 which I just cant find,I shoot 45 acp with 200LSWC 200gr I have had an order outstanding with Llohman arms for 6 month. In the mean time Ive bought 800x,700,ramshot comp, and red dot. All will work but each has its own drawbacks. AA #2 is my favorite, is there a powder available that will substitute for it. Im in Colorado Springs and nada. Also if you are in my area and have AA#2 you want to cash sell please contact me.

Have you tried the CFE Pistol? Seems like lots of it around Denver last couple of months. One of the powder guys I buy from usually has it on hand. Let me know if you'd like his email. I just checked and it looks like he has Tightgroup also

I go to WST first for my 200 LSWC. I use Red dot second for 200 and 230.

I have burnt an awful lot of W231 in the .45 ACP. It works well for me.

231 would be my first choice as the #2 replacement.

IMO i have gotten along quite well with Bullseye for 40+ years & for the last 10years or so with Tightgroup powder in just about every handgun caliber form 700 to 1,100 fps from 32 acp to 454 Casull. with excellent accuracy. . i have used alot of other pistol powders but never Red or Green Dot.

I've been using Red Dot, because it's what I found locally. Anything in the same burn range should work fine. 45ACP has lots of powder options.

231 for me in 45 acp. I've tried TiteWad with good results too, esp with the 200gr LSWC. Clean and accurate enough for plinking duty.

Try HP38 from Hodgdon. It's the same powder as WW 231. TJ

231 (HP38) is my first choice for 45 ACP, followed by WST. 231 is hard to find now so have been using WST mostly. Neither is a direct replacement for #2 but good alternatives.
