I'm looking for a mold for 300 BLK and if I can also use it on my 308 that would be great. I'm not looking for the heavy weight boolit yet as I don't have a can and not sure when I will get one. I'm also not looking for a light weight 110 gr or 115 gr but a good mid weight also like to hear if HP is worth it on rifle rounds?

Thanks for the advice and help also if you know a place that sells what I want love to hear it! Will be using gas checks and a lube sizer or Hi-Tek!

Look at the 308 hunting bullet that was group buy'ed from Mihec.
It is 147gn in HP and 154gn in solid flatpoint (if I recall correctly).
The design is made specifically for the military 7.62 chamber, so it would work great in the Blackout.

for what purpose?
hunting or target shooting.
for holes in paper I have been using the rcbs30-165 silhouette boolit it shoots super good groups in both my 308 and 300 b.o.
I shoot the 165 at a click over 1300 in my 7 twist 300, and right over 1900 fps in the 10 twist 308's.
but I can tell you it isn't a very good hunting boolit, I have poked holes in a few animals with it.
if you could find one of the old noe molds designed for the 7.5 swiss, based on a modified 30-165 silh boolit it would be pretty ideal for an all-rounder.

so far for me the NOE 311414 is proving to do a good mid- weight job. I get just over 1800 fps and reasonable accuracy from a 16" 1/7 bbl. I have used both the Lee 155 2r and the Noe 311-155 FN. As mentioned, the NOE FN doesn't chamber well. The Lee cast at .314 and sizing it to .310 tends to erase the lube grooves. I'll be spending my next little while wringing out the NOE 31141.

The Lee CTL312-160 2R shoots great for me in every application I've tried, from 300 BLK to 7.62 X 54R.
It's possible to HP a rifle boolit with the Forster tool, if you care to. They make a 1/16" and a 1/8" version, for rifle or pistol, respectively. I own the 1/8" version and use it for both.

I saw that I'm on the group buy for the Mihec 308 hunting round so I'm thinking maybe I should pick up a heavy round like the 230 gr? What do you guys think?

So now thinking of maybe getting a 115 gr mold!Since I bought a 170gr and 230 gr mold might as well pick up a light weight as it looks like it would be a two legged boolits!

I will be soon looking to at a can for subsonic rounds! So the heavy 230 gr will be used might think of getting a 247 gr? Don't know yet where I'm going with this caliber as I feel it to me is the middle caliber between 223 and 308 win! Have the small package of the AR-15 in 223 but have the heavy bullet of the 30 caliber in that package that all military have been trained with for 1000+ hours if you were a grunt!

in my 1-7" blackout, I had great accuracy down to 125 grain (jacketed), but at 110 grain the best group size tripled. YMMV, but I'd probably try some before buying the mold.

I've had some luck with the 311359 in my blackout. Seems to like the 311410 as well. Mine is 7 twist carbine gas, so it might surprise you it you try it. I've go that 311414 on order. I have high hopes for it. What are you loading it over?

Right now just what I can get my hands on Lil Gun,H110 and 296 maybe I should get a 125 gr or 130 gr mold?

I think you need to look at what molds are available, before debating what weight to get. Cart before the horse, and all that.

Many of us have been searching for the perfect lightweight (sub-140gr) cast bullet for the Blackout, no one has hit on it yet. I don't think such a thing exists yet.

On the other hand, the 155gr Lee bullet, and similar designs (like the new NOE 311414) can be pushed to about the same velocity as the 125gr jacketed bullets, and work reasonably well.

PM MiHec for the 311410 GC version with the short HP. It feeds, functions and is accurate in the ARs. The HP works quite well and would make an excellent varmint boolit or hunting boolit when alloyed correctly.

It was designed for the 308 chamber............ thus the name I gave it. It does not feed well in the 300 Blackout AR rifles I've shot due to the meplat size though. In 7.62 AR chambers, it seems to do much better and is quite accurate...... my choice boolit in the bolt action Ruger Gunsites.
