Has anyone ever tried this old design? If so, were they worth loading for accuracy shooting? I understand they were swaged, had a strange lube and no grooves.

Still have some of these in 41, 44, and 45. Haven't loaded them in decades, but IIRC, they were quite accurate at low speeds. Some interesting info on Alberts in this thread:

BTW, mine were made in Fairfield, NJ, according to the box.

Must be getting old. Alberts is a brand name I have not heard about in many years. They used to make a bullet called the schutzen plinker. Strictly a low velocity bullet. A coat of LLA would do well to minimize leading. Frank
