Has anyone seen or had a chance to paw one of the new S&W Model 69s. The little five shot 44 mag just caught my eye, and I just wanted to hear from folks here to see what y'all thought about it, and how your experience was with it. I'm not going to run out and buy one or anything anytime soon. I like the looks of them and think they would probably be great for riding in a hip holster on long days traipsing through the woods.

Thanks,

Sully

I've had a Model 69 for 2 months and @300 rounds. So far a really nice revolver - accurate, well balanced and the right weight and size. I am an L frame fan and I was happy to see this one come available. I hope they offer it in 3" barrel and more calibers (41mag, 45acp, 45 Colt) eventually.

This may be the revolver that forces me to buy a 44. I've been able to do everything I've wanted with my 41s, but I love my L frame sized revolvers. I really really really wish they made one in 41mag.

I went over to the Smith and Wesson forum to see what had been said about it. Those that have them love them. One thing they had done was put grips for the 500 on them. Not having ever held a 500 I don't know what the difference would be. I still want one though.

Had my hands on one in Scheels, felt very good. The X frame grips have a cushion at the top of the grip. Works very well shooting the 500 smitt and western revolver and would be my choice if buy one of these.....................and trying real hard not to.
