First post here, I'm really just starting on the path to casting. I have tried searching but my google-fu is weak today. If this is already answered please feel free to point me in the right direction.

In the meantime I have a box of 240 grain bullets sized to .452 from the H&G 502 mold. From what I've read this was designed for the .45 AR.

I'd like to try these in my RIA 1911 in .45 ACP - anyone have any experience with this bullet? Are the size and weight ok for use in .45 ACP? Anyone know where I can find load data (Unique preferred)using this bullet?

Thank you.

Welcome!

Funny you should ask: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?237958-Reliably-Feeding-the-452423-A-Science-Project

The project is still ongoing. Look for a new installment in about 2-3 weeks. Current test load is 4.4 grains of Titegroup giving about 820fps.

Excellent! I'll read through the thread tonight. I made up one dummy earlier today and it looks like it'll feed ok in the RIA but I am going to have to watch the crimp as it gets pushed back awfully easily.

Yup. Issues of seating depth are my current puzzle which I will be casting up a softer batch to address tomorrow. How soon they get shot will depend on some of that annoying "real life" stuff.
