I have a old Rem 700 300 mag from aprox mid to early 70s , bought new by my granddad . This thing shoots GREAT! It was one of the very early stainless rifles , it came with a black finish(paint type?) that looks VERY much like blueing. Not the mat stuff you see today. If you saw this rifle you would think it was blued carbon steel. But its marked STAINLESS.It cleans like no other rifle I have had. Copper just don't stick to this barrel .
Anyway This is a old family heirloom and I want it to look as good as it shoots. I would like to get the finish bead blasted off and leave it with a velvet satin stainless finish. I cant find anyone who does this kind of work. Can someone suggest a smith i could send it to . Thanks in advance.....Buck
