Show off you home swaged bullets here! This is what I'm currently swaging myself, all made with my own home made dies. Yes, it can be done! When you post pictures, give a description and what dies you're using. Left to right, .224, 68gr soft point from .22lr Fed brass; .243, 95gr soft point from .22mag Win brass; 8mm(.323), 175gr soft point from 9mm scrap cases (run through draw dies); and 44(.429) 240gr hollow point from scrap .40 S&W cases.

I really like those 8mm bullets! Could I send you a bunch of 9mm cases to get some made?:bigsmyl2:

Howard those look great!

when you did your 8mm load development was it hard to find loads? seems like these home-made swaged bullets have longer shanks than commercial bullets with the same weight?

Thanks guys. Gunnut and Cane, I kind of went with a hybrid design on the 8mm. When I draw the 9mm cases, the jackets don't end up long enough to make the weight heavy enough for what I wanted in a hollow point type bullet. I went with a soft point so there would be lead in the nose, and a shorter ojive to get the weight up to 175gr. I really didn't want anything lighter than that. I used the Hornady 170gr round nose load data for working up the load. I just started a couple grains under the starting load for 4064 powder and worked up to a comfortable load. They shoot great in my k-98 out to 500 yards easy. Bonz, as far as the .44's; they shoot real nice. I've tried them in both my Model 29 pistol and my Win 94 trapper and I'm very happy with the results. I made some lighter ones too at 230 grains, so they had a large hollow point. The water jug test was pretty fun with those. Also, as I mentioned before on the .224's. I've found that the 68 grain bullets above are shooting better than the 57 grain hollow points that I had been shooting in all three of my .223 rifles. I've pretty much stopped making the lighter bullets now.
