I need to ask this Colt DA question here.....

I have a set a Herrett's Shooting Star grips on the "Swapping & Selling" page. It says on the package that it "Fits: Python, Trooper, Official Police, Three-Fifty-Seven."

I had someone ask if it would fit the Colt .357 Trooper III. I seem to remember that Colt shortened the butt of the grip on their DA revolvers somewhere along the line, but I don't know exactly when. I know that this grip fits the old style (long) grips. I do not know if the Trooper III has the long grip or the short one.

Does anyone here know?

The Trooper III is a different frame size; larger than the E & I frames the grips will fit. I have several of each and the Mark III is a stand alone size and design.

Python and Trooper MkIII are not even close in size. Different frames.

Thanks for the answers. I thought there was something different about the Trooper III size, but could not remember what it was.
