I'm not knowledgeable about non common cartridges.
I have a die that I thought was 308 WIN but is shorter.
By about. 260.

Is there a 308 Short?

Where did you get this(these?) dies? are they commercial or someone's custom/homemade dies?
The cartridge designation should be stamped somewhere on the die itself.
By 260 do you mean 0.260 inches? Just over 1/4"?

There is a cartridge called the .308 x 1.75 that would be about that length. As stated above it should be stamped on the die.

The die is stamped 308 WIN. It's a Wilson Arbor seater die.
Yes I mean 0.260 (I hate spell check)

308 x 1.75 could be close. 2.015 - 1.75 = 0.265
That could be.

I'll look up the specs on that.
Thanks,

Paul

It's been a while since I've loaded with my Wilson arbor press and dies, but I don't recall the case going all the way into the die in order to seat bullets. As I recall the case sits on a "base" and the die sits on top of the "base". Part of the case should be out of the die. I could stand to be corrected because I haven't used them in years and my rememberer isn't what it once was.
Good Luck,
Rick

You are missing the base that goes with the die. I'm sure you can get one from Wilson.

From what I have read (LE Wilson Instruction Sheet) and videos I've seen I believe its flush.
The base is so a loaded round won't be squeezed on the primer and possibly go bang.

Here's my Wilson NS die for 308/7.62 NATO. Is this similar to the OP's die?

The base is .375" deep on this unit.
