Went up outside town (1 1/4 mile[smilie=s:) late in the afternoon last Wednesday to pay homage to the participants of the LBH battle on the 25th of June back in 1876. Parked my trusty steed (Jeep), looked around, gave the command "hostiles to the front, fire at will" and commenced firing at rocks 100 - 300 yards away with the TD Carbine and 15 - 50 yards with the SAAs. After about 30+ rounds with the TD carbine, two magazine full of the M1873 and 25 shots with the revolver the Sun was setting and the "hostiles" withdrew. Mounted up and returned to my "fort". Had a good "sundowner" and said a silent prayer. Rest in peace, lest we forget.

Thanks Larry, we should not forget. I have been known to leave empty cases & coins at the US soldiers death sites at the Bearpaw battle field to honor the fallen. Someone needs to compete with the honors given to the Nez Perce.

Thanks for the reminder. I have lived about 40 miles from the Shiloh battlefield all my life, and it still gives goose bumps every time I walk through that patch of history.
