Has anyone tried cast projectiles in the CZ-82, 9x18? I bought one of these for my son, and it is a great pistol. I'd like to start handloading for it, but the jacketed bullets aren't cheap. The pistol is a bit unusual as it has polygonal rifling, which I've found generally unfavorable to cast bullets.

Thanks.

I have an 82 and two Makarovs (standard rifling) and the Lee mold. As soon as I find a source of cheap brass I'll be able to answer your question, sample of one, of course.

I have put cast and Bear Creek through mine. runs well with them. I trim 9x19 brass down to mak length and then load it. Works well enough. . .

Unique fills the case right up. shoots pretty good though.

ETA- the cast were from the lee mak mold.

+1 on trimming 9x19 brass.

Its free and plentiful at the range.
