I just picked one up used and was wondering if they were microgroved or not. It will be a couple weeks before i recieve it and need to consider molds for it. I though i had read elsewhere that they were microgroved but wanted to know for sure.

Lloyd-

They are Micro-Groove. Glad to hear that you found a 336D.

BTW, there was no luck at that shop in my area when I went and checked the rifle racks. Sorry I forgot to tell you.

Is it not so marked on the barrel?

Yeap, MicroGroove but the roll stamp is marked as a Ballard barrel ***336D***, a mistake on Marlin's part. Excellent little rifle. Here is an image of my chamber, it might save you the time of taking the cast yourself. The bullet is my TLC359-190-RF which was made specificially with all the Marlin 35 Remingtons in mind. The molds will be available the first of August. I'm testing the bullets now.
