Hello gents (and ladies),

Here is my wish list on NOE. Being a one stop shopper, and considering their excellent reputation, I wanted to stop
fiddling around and order some moulds. I have been researching for hours upon hours in this site and others, looking for
what might be the ideal mould for each rifle. Below the wish list, I will post the firearms which the moulds will be feeding.
Your expert opinions are needed and appreciated.

316299 is meant for a sporter Mosin (Westinghouse) with a barrel that slugs .3165" accompanied by a snug throat @ .3235"

The .413 230 grain mould is for a Taurus Tracker in .41 Magnum that slugs .410"

The .432 265 grain mould is for a Winchester 94 (newer version) that slugs .4305"

The .368 280 grainer is meant for a 98 Mauser sporter that has been re-chambered to 9.3x64mm and rebored to .3665"

The 311041 is for a 1955 vintage 30-30 with a barrel slug that emerges measuring .3097"

In all instances, there will be the possibility of some hunting involved, but mostly the reasoning is to shoot cheaply.

Thanks for your advice and feedback!

You're going to spend $620.99 right now, and this is just the start, 1 set of handles for 5 moulds wont do, sizer dies- you will need more sizes than you can shake a stick at, lube/sizer machine, bullet lube, gas checks, more moulds, it just never stops.
" Mostly the reasoning is to shoot cheaply" No! No! No! It doesn't work like that ...they sucker you in with that line and BAM...your addicted to casting! Run away , Run away...or accept the fact that you're not really going to save thousands of dollars but it is an interesting and pleasurable hobby that's a lot of fun. I have always enjoyed casting boolits from scrap lead and turning them into beautiful shiney projectiles. Youe choice of moulds are first rate and will get you started rather nicely. Welcome to the club.

Forget it you are already addicted. I still have not cast my first boolit but I already have about six or so new moulds (Mihec, NOE, etc) and have smelted about 800lbs of coww and soww. I am so close to saving money I can taste it. As stated, welcome to the club.

Yep, I'll reply.
Yes, it is certain that you are insane.

Thanks Gentlemen. First, I agree that I probably don't need hollow point moulds, good catch, excess650!

Next, while a glance at my posts may seem to point to a first timer, I am not a greenhorn. I have 7 moulds, 7 Lyman M dies, 500 lbs. of ingots, around 400 lbs of WW,
two lubrisizers, 5 sets of sizing dies, 10 lbs of SR-4759, and so on... I have even killed an elk with a cast boolit from my own pour.

I wanted to try something better, and being a one stop shopper, thought NOE would be the ticket to feed the addiction!

Isn't sanity defined by different people in different ways, thus making it a variable condition?

Thanks for the feedback!

Considering I have 3 of your 5 choices, I'd say you are on the right track. :) However, I did not get hp versions of the ranch dog .432 or the 9.3 mould. I would consider one in the 9.3 but I really don't think it's needed or perhaps even a good idea.

It is interesting that you chose a .44 mould with a much larger meplat relative to your .41 choice. Just a personal preference, but I would also look at any round-flat designs and perhaps a keith style. That just looks like a long nose, more like a truncated cone on the .41. Not bad, just not what I would choose.

Fishman: I agree with you on all points. Maybe I am blind, but in the weight that i desire, I did not notice any other choices besides the .304" meplat on the .444 mould. I admit some inexperience with the NOE website, so maybe I am missing some option. Thank you for the heads up!

You are right, there aren't any other choices for a .41 mould on the NOE site. I'm sure the design is fine and perhaps it looks better in hand than in a picture.

Looks like fun, enjoy. If I had to pass a sanity check before ordering from NOE I wouldn't be enjoying his moulds, sanity is overrated anyway. If you're going to use the moulds more than every once in awhile spring for a few more sets of handles. I get tired of changing them.

I pulled the trigger on this order sans the 316299. NOE sent me an email with a 20% off code and I jumped on it. The 316299 was not available any longer, so off I go to Accurate Molds... More once I can cast and shoot some of these boolits. Thanks for the feedback, gents!
