Ingredients 50 tater tots
16-ounce package Bacon
2/3 cup Brown Sugar
2 tablespoons Chili Powder
Directions Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with foil and place a cooling rack on top of the pan. This will allow the bacon to crisp on all sides.

Cut each bacon strip into 4 pieces. Cut the bacon in half and then cut each half in half again.

Wrap each thawed tater tot in bacon and then roll it in the brown sugar mixture. Place on top of the cookie rack.

Bake about 10 to 15 minutes at 375, then increase the oven to 400 and let them cook another 5 minutes. Check to see if they are crisping up. You may need to leave them in 5 minutes longer. Check frequently at this point so they don't burn. Serve warm.

Bacon.........REEEEEEEEELY GOOD SMOKED THICK BACON........goes with just about anything!

YUM! Thank God for the humble swine.

Oh.......and it must be cooked until it is floppy, not hard and crispy so it breaks your teeth......like my wife likes. I make her take mine off long before hers is done!

Being diabetic I prefer other carbs. But I'm doing a venison roast in the smoker some upcoming weekend and it will be smothered in thick cut bacon. Done that before.

No worse than cracklin's....hog fat, deep fried in hog fat then salted. I'm guessing you could deep fry the bacon-tot's in hog lard for the full taste and artery clogging effect!
I believe hog lard lubes your arteries so they don't get clogged!

White soft and gooey "fingerprint" bread....lots of mayonaise....2 pieces of American cheese and 4 slices of bacon..the all American "cholesterol slam" sandwich...call the E.R. and make a reservation and then enjoy

I think I have a new screensaver!...NOT! Diet is not working very well so bacon and tater tots are not allowed in this house. Cream cheese or parmesan would be an awesome topping tho...;-)

That's what I had for dinner last night, only I sliced up a home grown vine ripened Creole tomato on it. The tomato cancels out the bacon and no E.R. visit is required.
Came to conclusion that calories are actually a measure of good taste . Look at calories in bacon as compared to calories in celery...which is better tasting, which has more calories....see!
They are a measure of good taste, more calories = more tastyness .

It's that really soft white bread that has no nutritional value...it's gooey...and when you slather mayo and butter on it your fingers squash into it when you pick it up to eat the sandwich...think Wonder bread (only when it is really fresh) was the first...it's sort of hard to find these days since we are being protected from ourselves...

OK, you had me as soon as I saw the picture ... so I'm going to have to try this!

(Being "West Coasters" we also do the same thing and wrap seasoned bacon around prawns or chunks of Halibut and pop them onto the BBQ. I usually marinate the prawns or Halibut in Honey Mustard dressing first.)

For the hunters in the crowd....deer cube steak marinaded in diet coke, Ms. Dash table blend and Dale's seasoning (Worcester or Soy will work, if you're not in the south and can't get Dale's), a thin slice of jalapeno or Serrano pepper, a dallop of cream cheese. Roll it up, wrap it in good, thick smoky bacon and grill.... DON'T overcook....the bacon doesn't need to be crispy, if it is...the venison is overdone. We call them 'Scooby snacks'. Might just change your religion..... :)

Of course bacon wrapped anything will be good. Here are the major food groups necessary to sustain life:

1. Bacon
2. Refined sugar
3. Salt
4. Butterfat
5. Alcohol
6. Caffeine
7. Nicotine
8. Some folks claim that fresh vegetables are necessary but potato chips will do.

I make bacon wrapped new potatoes when going to family picnics and the like. They always go quickly and are easy to make. There is to much of a good thing. I would put bacon wrapped tater tots in that list.

I can see another step to the recipe. After baked to perfection simply add a small cheese addition of maybe swiss or something you favor and broil for a minute or two until the cheese is nicely melted around the bacon goodness and has taken on a slight browned color.
