Had a set of lyman mold handles wood finally gave up the ghost completely so made a new set today. WHile at the hardwre store I picked up 2 copper 1/2" caps ( I made the handles from 3/4" oak dowels). I trimmed the one end down to a snug fit with the caps and epoxied them in place. Tthe copper pipe caps made nice ferrules for the handles. I can now glue and pin the handles to the rest and be casting again.

I know what you mean Paul I am on a fixed income ( disability) and havent bought a camera yet. I have a hard time with the picture posting when I do get them to forward. I would have liked to post pics as they look real nice
I made handle's out of an old industrial broom stick and thin section's of metal conduit as the ferrel's. I made sure they were a tight fit then drilled a small hole thru them while in the mold and used a long thin nail as a cross pin

i bought a lyman mould from a friend the other day for 10 dollars. it was a .40 roundball mould without handles. i drilled it out to .399 and to a weight of 495 grains. use it to cast a core of a .440 swagged pp bullet. i was in luck as i had a cheap italian mould i bought years ago for what reason i dont know and the italian handles fit the lyman mould perfectly. some days are diamonds.
