I smelted the nine hammers down and and some of the ingots came out bright and shiney and some dull and white like silver? Why would they be different, temp?

using the same ingots?

if so the ingots got hot and caused a diff cooling rate of the lead.

I agree with Blammer, it's probably temp. Higher temps can lend a frosted look to the lead. Higher amount of tin would make them shiny too.

Thanks guys the company that makes the hammer has a lead/antimony version which is their softest, then they ahave a lead/tin which is the next harder. I'm not sure which we get because corporate has them shipped direct and they are unmarked and look identical on their website. I skimmed with my lyman skimmer, and let what would drain out drain out, should I remelt this and see in I can squeeze more out. It only abounted to about a little over a cup full.
