Is 45 Basic, 45 Cylinder and 45-120 not all the same brass?

Tried to run Norma 45 Cylinder into a 45-110 sizing die, and it won't go. Humm...

Good thing I tried it in the chamber before I cut it off to 2 7/8"...

There are two versions of the Norma basic, one is 2 7/8's long the other is just over 3 1/4, just need to measure and trim to length as needed.

It acts like the diameter is too big. Won't go into the sizing die more than an inch, or inch and a half.
I found that out when I tried to insert it into the chamber to determine how much I needed to cut it back.

OK, So have you lubed it up and pushed it all the way into the die? The sizer just might make it small enough to work. OR, am I missing something you wrote?

Lubed it up and tried to push it through the die. Wouldn't go...

Going to try to push it into a 45/70 FL die. Maybe there is something wrong with the 45-110 die.

Seating dies body diameter should be slightly bigger than sizer dies is, Try it first and then running into sizing die. Also Measure the body dia of the new brass and good cse at the same point on the body to see what the diffrence is. Also check to insure it isnt egg shaped causiing the issue.

Mic the area just ahead of the rim.

Chambers are small as .500" and sometimes as large as .510" max and that would be a very sloppy chamber.
Your brass is ____________ ?
Your FL sizer die should resize cases to fit a minimum chamber.
In rare instances something goes wrong with one of these.
The Micrometer and a Flashlight are the two most used tools on my loading bench. They can provide a lot of clues to questions.
Lanolin or STP amongst others are very good high surface strength lubricants. If regular resizing lube does not seam to be enough try that on the case. Size in short steps on stubborn cases. Use all lubes by wiping them very thin or lube dents occur.

If you have a closed top die the over length case may be hitting a step on the inside of the die.

As it turns out, I had to run the brass into a 45/70 die first, then I could run it into the 45-110 FL die. Maybe the Hornaday 45/70 die was just a little bigger then the Lyman 45-110.

What I did find out, 45 Cylinder brass does not to have any taper, hence cylinder.

Thanks for everyone's replies.
