Anyone try using this twist lid on a 5 gallon bucket for wet tumbling, or should I stick to the orange gasketed lid?

Looks like the one i use, I bought a white one at Menards. The large sized threads on mine get clogged up with pins, and is hard to open. It leak a bit too, but it works just fine. I did have trouble with it "Pressurizing" (hot water on a cold day) the whole bucket would inflate! So a small 1/16th hole dead center stopped that.

Leaking was what I was curious about. Does it make a mess or is it a small amount of leaking?

Yeah, makes a mess. I only use it outside.

I use chlorine buckets, about 12.7 gallons. Built much stronger than a 5 gallon bucket and seal well with screw on lids.
