Keith is asking this question of me and I have no clue.

Since some of you have and shoot these rifles, maybe y'all can give this guy a hand.

His Question is "info on a scope mount for a 1898 Styer 8mm bolt action"

Sorry I don't have anymore info, but ask away and I'll relay the info on to him.

Thanks in Advance,

TwoTrees

I have a 1912 Chilean mauser made by Steyr (7mm)
It is an 1898 model action
A photo of the receiver crest and/ or the left siderail markings would help ID it..
If it is a "98" action, any mount that says it's for a G98, K98, K98k, German.. etc will work...

Depends on just what it is. If it's a '95 Steyr he'd best use a scout scope setup. That charger has to go in through the top!

The question is; 98 Mauser made by Steyr, 95 straight pull Austro/Hungarian military, or another Steyr design? It's the design that makes the difference. 98 Mauser is easy as Razor said. The base that drops inside the sight rails on the 95 - use the Mosin model and file it down. It needs some modification but works.
