Today , my friend Jason and I worked about 6 hours adding shelves , 4 ea, 2 ' wide X 7 ' long.

This will help me organize and help with storage in my basement.

I wanted a well illuminated surface for assembly and dis-assembly of firearms. Now I have that also.

Very nice. That should work well. Where did you acquire the rubber mat?

My friend Jason had it, offered it to me for free. I said, " Let's do it."

How he came by the rubber mat, I don't know ?

I have 5 benches, you're looking at one of them.

If only I had enough space to build a good bench...

I can certainly relate to that.
In the early 1960's , I lived with my Mom in a small mobile home.

I ended up with a reloading table in my bedroom that was 4 feet long and 2 feet wide. Made out of a piece of 3/4" plywood.

I had a Herter's C Press and believe it or not , I loaded an awful lot of very accurate ammo in that " hardship situation."

My very 1st cartridge to reload was the 8 X 57 with my Herter's Dies, Herter's Powder , Herter's bullets and Herter's primers.

Of course what I had then ( although I didn't think it was exactly ideal ) was certainly better than not having a loading table at all.

Made a last minute " fine tune " to my bench, see below :

I agree that the gun friendly work surface will be a blessing. I am space challenged so it is nice to see a nice sized, dedicated work space chockablock with what you need.

A long time coming, but none the less, nice to have it now.

You certainly needed it. You couldn't get any more çrap on that other bench if tried!lol!!

i like the rubber work space. Sure make flippin' some of them stocks around less nerve racking.

The rubberized workspace is great. I stole one of the wife's old yoga mats for my bench top a few years ago. Can't live without it now.

If you drop screws, pins, etc. on the thick rubber mate, they don't roll or make any attempt to move off the table. I like that.

Also, if you remove the cylinder from one of my Blackhawk revolvers and it slips out of your hands, it is MUCH better for it to fall on this rubber mate than to fall and him the cement floor.

I haven't seen the top of my bench in about 15 years. If I did this it would be about a week and would look like the others I have.

It is real easy for your bench top to end up in that condition, go ahead and ask me how I know ?
