Just splurged and got the Wife and Myself these ventilated suits last week (ultra breeze) they are 259.00 each. The working temp is at least 15 degrees cooler if there is any breeze.

An older fellow at church talks about his hives. He is passionate about his bees, and is very interesting to listen to. He brings in honey now and then, and it is tastes just fine on my toast! Just don't ever tell him you killed a bee or even a wasp.

Been looking to make a super, especially if I get the property across the street from me. Has about 30 apple trees, and currently have a garden over there as the owner moved into a home and his grandkids left his garden sit fallow.

Been looking at plans and it doesn't seem too involved to get one set up.

Very nice. Wife had 2 hives and lost them both. We have a terrible bee shortage this year, i guess the hard winter got them. Then it warmed up, saw a few bees, got down below freezing again, no more bees, not what we needed. Had a wild hive in an old oak tree for years, no sign of them.

I live near a commercial apiary for crop pollination. The honey is a by product they make their money from the hive rental so buying honey from them is cheap. We rarely use sugar in anything any more. We buy the honey in 20lb or 50lb buckets. I LOVE honey! so it works out well for me. Looks like the OP has his hands full for sure.

I noticed the last time I mowed that there were zero bees and my lawn is full of clover that was in full flower, not good.

Ive actually been looking into get into bees and honey producing. i know its going to be a lot of hard work, but the bees do the most of the work for you. Right now im still planning things out, to see if i can really do, or if the bees are going to be after my acres worth of fruit trees.

Walked the yard again today. Clover in full bloom, huge patch 100x40 feet, not a single bee buzzing around.
