Few months back , some reloading gentleman's leftovers wound up in my possession and I felt very thankful.
Well it happened again ! , an acquaintance came across these items that an older gent was giving away and they got passed on to me ..
So tell me folks , what do you think I have here that goes back in time ...
first off , an older Lee powder scoop set , they are in black plastic.
two die sets , EAGLE brand reloading ? 38/357 and 30-06
a full box of Speer 150 gr. jacketed bullets
two small box's (100 total) of CCI small pistol primers
one EAGLE brand primer pocket swager
small amount of 30-06 brass
a good amount of 9 mill brass
a good amount of 38 special brass
a good amount of 357 brass
a small amount of 30-30 brass
along with a Speer reloading manual #7
bits and pieces of paper work in regards to EAGLE reloading products out of El Monte , Calif.

all this EAGLE stuff I have never heard of before ... so any input anybody has , please pass on.
OH ! .... by the way , these two cans were in the box also ...;-) , the 4831 has a price of $1.95
108082
108083
Guesstimates of time wise ... late fifty's or early 60's ? ... (sorry , the pic is a bit blurred)
Help me out here guy's ... the EAGLE brand stuff is a bit of history in it self I am sure.

Not a thing wrong with Eagle dies.

At or around 1974, I was able to buy brand new Eagle revolver dies ( not carbide ) for $8 a set.

They worked just fine.

I just loaded some 30-30 rounds with a can of 4831 that looked just like that.
except I think the price tag said $1.79
the primers I used were marked .69

I think the the can or box of 4831 has never been opened , think maybe the unique has tho ......
Could this turn into one of those ... " I can tell how old you are by your telling me what the price of gas was when you first paid for it !" ...... threads ?
then again , the products may not be that old ? ...my bad !

The Reloading Bench is a gun shop in Irving Texas, according to my google-foo.

Those are old prices. In the 70's primers were a penny apiece.

that lead in the background goes back a ways in time, probably to about the time Earth was created. :)

The Speer Manual #7 was the "current" issue being sold when I started handloading in 1970. Don't know when it was introduced. Even now that manual has a reputation as being a bit extreme with hot loads in certain calibers. By example I knew a shooter who cracked the frame on a S&W M-19 with one of the Speer #7 recommended loads (357 Magnum - 125 grain bullets - SR4756). All of the materials in your photos appear extremely well preserved and cared for. Over the years I have had the opportunity to make purchases of reloading materials from estates, or persons getting out of the activity. On those times when the owner was no longer living, one could almost feel their presence and passion by looking at the entire gathering of materials and components. You have to be respectful when dealing with another's collection.

checking on the Speer manual , it seems it was published in 66 ....
with all the clues here , maybe we are looking at the late sixty's , earley seventies ?
Some of the paperwork includes promotional for the Eagle Cobra press ...
chasing back in some of the links here , one or two members have aquired this single stroke model ...who knows , possibly they picked up the one that this individual was using ? ... a bit of a stretch maybe .. , but interesting.

Gas was $1.25 and I think powder was $7. I started buying both at about the same time (1980).
