What was the 100 meter impact point for ball ammo using the peep provided on these Enfields?

My Winchester P-14 shoots 8 to 9 " high using the peep sight (not the ladder) with Mil-spec loads (174 grain bullet at 2440 fps) This is about right for being right on at 250-300 yards which would be the battle-field zero.

Thanks Curator; mine shot a little over 12 inches high with 174gr Sierra Match Kings at 2500fps. I changed out the front sight for the next tallest one I had and I'll drop the powder charge 1 1/2 gr's.

My "mil-spec" load uses the Hornady 174 grain round nose, flat base bullet. I have found this bullet to be the most accurate in ALL of my .303 British rifles. Using Reloder15 powder and "tuning" velocity to right about 2440fps, this load shoots accurately with the issue sights and is right on out to at least 300 yards (longest range available to me) Sierra 174 grain MatchKing bullets shoot as good in a few rifles with tight bores but do not shoot better. An added advantage with the Hornady slug load is grabbing a handful of cartridges, an issue sighted rifle and heading to the woods in deer/bear season.

Curator, I like RL-15 also. Depending on which rifle I use it in 40 to 42 grains and a 174 grain bullet does a good job. I tried my sight changing today; I went to high and ended up shooting a little low. So I will try the sight that's in between those I've used all ready.
