Sorry for all of these questions here recently but I have these projects I am trying to finish. I have the black and the brown from Brownells for their glass but I would like to get the color of the old Mico-Richards bedding compound from years ago. It was nice and dark brown but had a tint of red that allowed it to blend in with many gunstock stains. Is it possible blend the color of acra glass with something other than their stain?

I would try paint store pigments. I have begged tiny amounts of assorted colors from Lowe's and Home Depot in the past. It doesn't take much.

Ive used Burnt Umber pigment to darken and it worked good. Looked just like the goo Brownells puts in the glas kits.

Used the cheap craft paints from wally world for years in accru glass when I was doing furniture repair. Just pick your color any color! Burnt Amber seemed to work best when trying to match walnut. Just a toothpick point of paint will give a lot of color so go slow

If you know someone who has dry printer toner you might give that a try. I had a black refill kit and used some of the dry black toner powder to tint my epoxy and it worked pretty well. The color was not as dense as the black tint Brownells uses, so that might be good, especially if you mix with the brown.

If you need some black toner powder, let me know (PM me) and I can send you some in an envelope.

tap plastics epoxy pigment. 3 bucks a bottle for more than a lifetime supply.

I use the walnut sanding dust. I never use the dye included in the Acraglas kits.
