View Full Version : I need a recommendation
I have a friend that has bad problems with Armadillos.
He has a Rem. 552 .22 auto with an illuminated red dot sight on the grooved portion of his rifle.
He wants a high power LED light and mount for the barrel of his .22 rifle.
What do you recommend ? I figure that the mag. tube is going to present a problem with a light that would attach directly to the barrel and hang underneath.

I have a little Barska illuminated reticle scope with integral picatinny rails on 3 sides. I don't use it that way, but it is made for mounting lights and laser sights when you don't have a rail available elsewhere on the gun. It is sturdy enough to hold up to full power .30-40 Improved while knocking around in the woods. I realized I had a picture already on here showing the scope and rails. Only scope I ever found that lets that rifle eject spent rounds properly.

Sounds like a good reason to buy a Ruger 10-22 bull barrel 😉

Can't help with the mount because I put a homemade job on mine that attached to the sling swivel stud on a Stevens 87A, it's quick, crude and works but I'm going to improve it someday.
Anyway, I mounted this light to it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MRV-SE-T6-CREE-XM-LT6-LED-8W-1300-Lumen-5-Mode-Flashlight-Waterproof-Battery-/190843475676?pt=US_Flashlights&hash=item2c6f2856dc
It casts a very bright spot at least 300yds out. It really lights up the jacks and yotes around here.
Thanks for all the ideas.
I'll pass these onto my friend.

My light mount is duct tape!
My light mount is duct tape!
Something to be said for that.
If it works, stay with it.
