Friends, my brother gave me some old .38 Special reloads, maybe from the 80s or 90s. One son and I pulled the bullets. The bullet is a 125 grain JHP. It has a somewhat shallow hollow point cavity. I looked through the pictures on the Midway website and couldn't find anything just like it. Do any of you recognize it? Thanks, Jeff

Well I tried several times to get a decent picture, but I have some 158gr Star jacketed bullets that are almost identical. I had some of the 125's years ago and they look the same other than one being longer.

I have to say I have not seen a profile like that since I have been loading. If it was from the 80's-90's it may be a custom bullet made by one of the plethora of custom bullet makers and their Corbin presses. They came - they went. I sure had a bunch of them at one time. I have not seen a factory bullet like that one. It has a unique meplate, ogive, and back-set cannelure.
