View Full Version : Did some smelting today.

Needed to keep my mind off other things going on so fired up the smelter, after about 2 1/2 hrs this is what I came up with, pot with about 250lbs, ingots ready for the smelt, finished. let cool for a bit on the concrete floor, did some hardness test on my Cabinetree, 83/84, in a couple days i'll test again, should be in the 85/87 range, pretty much what I was looking for.

Stainless steel, couple good buddies made for me also welded a frame to hold both burners.

Nice setup and good job. I wish I had a day to smelt. Got a couple hundred pounds of range scrap and a bunch of wheel weights. Need to free up a few buckets.

OK, I'll see what I can do in a couple days, has been returned to it's back corner in the garage.

Nice looking set up. It's definitely a smelting machine youve got there
