Another Enfield SMLE comes home

Rescued another No.4 Mk.1 from the local big five yesterday. Two actually, on closeout for, get this $149 + tax. One is a Savage, and the other is just a US Property marked No.4, but it doesn't have a S in the side markings on the receiver. This leads me to believe that Century is marking regular #4's to make people think they are US made, but really aren't. Both have great bores, and the nose on my Fatter 30 mold doesn't enter the muzzle. The last one at this particular store has NO rifling at the muzzle, and the Fatter 30 just dropped into the muzzle on that rifle, so it DIDN'T come home with me. All in all, a good day.

The serial number should tell the tale of whether they are really Savage made guns. The serial should be 2 digits, then a "C" then 4 or 5 more digits. IE "44C1234"
