Around here I can tell you that prices would fluctuate considerably based on who was selling it and where. The cheapest place would be a pawn shop in a poor county, most expensive would be at a shop in Lexington that specializes in collectible guns. These estimates are based on my experience with these places, not the average retail price or guide book listing.

Cheap pawn shop:

Police Positive: $300.00
1911 .38 Super: $900.00
Army Special: $350.00

Collectible gun shop:

Police Positive: $500.00
1911 .38 Super: $1500.00+
Army Special: $550.00

This is why I love cheap pawn shops. They pay practically nothing for the guns and make great deals to put cash in the register. I recently bought a like new Glock 19 generation 4 with all the accessories for $400.00 out the door. In most shops here that will buy you a tired generation 3 police trade with one mag or maybe none at all.

The above prices are what I would expect to see in the houston area. I always keep a lookout for those model revilolvers, because right now they are some of the best deals on Colts to be had. The only difference is even the pawn shops around me want close to what the collectors shop wants (thank$ gunbroker). But the pawn shop prices posted can be had at one of our monthly local gun shows so the prices do balance out. If you can get that 38 super for a grand, give the man your money and never stop till you reach your safe.

The two pics indicate that both are in rough condition, with visible pitting, rust and holster wear. Additionally, both are in less desirable calibers: 38 Long Colt and 38 Super. The revolver is maybe 60% and the pistol perhaps 80%. I'd value the revolver at 250-300 and the auto in the 800-900 dollar range.
