I traded my broken down motorhome for this gun and 500 bucks cash.

I was asking for 1,200. For the motorhome.

Winchester-94 30-30

Definitely. Even the green bear is smiling.

Both sights on the rifle, too.

Never seen a 30-30 money pit, plenty of RV's are nothing more than that. You've saved yourself enough money for a few dies and lots of alloy. ;-)

To answer your question, when did you see a old motorhome increase in worth??? I'll take the gun!

In my neck of the woods, the old US built Winchesters that USED to be a $200 gun and nobody wanted the things are now $500 collector pieces. And they sell. Some in worse condition than the pictures here. Check the bore and if good, shoot it.

The used gun guys laugh at me when I mention the "good old days" and put the merchandise back on the shelf. It's gone in 2 weeks.

I know, I've been looking for a project...

In my area 85% post 64's are doing for $350 to $400 currently. Just to be clear got the 94 plus 500 cash correct? What was your bottom line on the motor home?

A "good deal" is when both parties walk away smiling.

I bought a very similar '94 a 15 years ago for about $175 that also had one of those godawful side mounts on it. The rifle looks bad, but with a Williams peep I put on it, she's a good shooter.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I like Winchester '94s better than Marlins for the most part. I'd say you did alright if the RV wasn't doing anything for you.

Hymm food for thought.

I checked gun broker and there going for about 500 ish or so.

As for the price I paid for it. I've had it for 7 years got my moneys Worth.

And yes I got 500 cash + the gun.

My only real beef is I just don't shoot long gun all that much.

The range I go to can't Handel anything that powerful.

I'll most likely shoot it and see if I like it or not.

If not up for sale.

I read the OP a couple of times and still don't understand the deal. If you traded the MH for the rifle + 500 in your pocket then the deal was fine. If you gave 500 plus the MH for the rifle then the deal was not so good. In many cases it costs to have junker vehicles hauled off.

Across the board, including the big market of Gunbroker, those post 64 94s seem to go for about 400. But, the d&t'd holes in the receiver don't help the value. The scope is a wash and adds no value.

yup I misunderstood, I thought you gave $500 and through in a motorhome too. so yes it wasn't a bad deal. I traded an 81 f150 for a Lee Enfield with a LARGE 45-70 barrel on it. I thought I did o.k too.

The RV must of looked awful because that sure is one ugly rifle! I love levers but whoever owned that rode it hard and put it away wet. And the scope mount, yuck! LOL
Regardless, if you are happy its a great deal.

I'll be heading out to shoot it this weekend and decide if its a keeper or sell it for cash for a new handgun.
