had this topper 158 I bought as a parts gun, no forarm or stud for the forearm and it was collecting dust so I stuck a 18 inch 357 tube in it and wow the fun began. Shoots cast anything with delight but better than that with my home cooked snake loads at 15 yards it gives a perfect 16 inch pattern. Painted and baked it, made a forearm out some light wood that half matched the birch butt stock and gave both pieces the old vineager and steel pad recipe to turn the stock black then I started sanding stain pack into the wood. Looks good to me, just have to get over the club like look it has. With scope I have less than 100 dollars in it so I don't feel to bad about it. Sure is fun to shoot!

I think it turned out great. And its got to have some satisfaction knowing you did it yourself.

Very Nice , I like the look and the worksmanship! I have been thinking mine needs a better fit stock myself. Was going to do walnut but yours has me thinking just a reshape around the grip and see how it looks. If anything like yours I'll be a happy camper. I got the 45-70,22 in 20 ga, 30-30 and the 357mag all to the same frame. I want to radius the bottom corners of the frame and reblue , but haven't got the nerve up yet, nor the roundtuit!

Love the full length stock. Euro guns have nothing on yours!
