Anyone follow Jim? http://floydpics.wordpress.com/ He's placing some fine stuff in print these days.

Saw some of his stomping grounds yesterday. Barbara & I visited a little shop beside the lodge & had lunch across the street.

Afterwards we looked around out of town.

Jim's neck of the woods ain't bad.

Thought he might live here but no one home.

Jim has invited me as a co-contributor to his site so we hope to expand the content even more. It's a wonderful opportunity for me to wax lyrical somewhere between the forum and my official magazine writing. I just added a couple of pages about making and shooting shot.

Floyd was in the Dallas Morning News Travel section a few weeks back. I thought it was an odd choice for an article in our paper, but it made me think of Jim and what he would think of a bunch of Texans wandering around his town.

Jeff I knew you were part of this effort & failed to mention this. Keep up the good work I'm enjoying all.

Floyd in the Dallas Morning News? It truly is a beautiful place. Is there a link to the article?

I cringed at the thought of finding it, but they made their site a bit easier to navigate since I last looked around: http://www.dallasnews.com/lifestyles/travel/us/20140516-floyd-virginia-a-one-stoplight-town-with-huge-charm.ece

Nice pics,,,,,you didn't take one of the Masonic Lodge itself by any chance did you?

BTW, that house where you thought he might live? I don't think that could be it,,,,,,,no American flag flying,,,,,,

Great pictures! Being a Mason, I enjoyed the photo of the sign - as Hamish asked - did you take a photo of the Lodge? Would sure like to see it if you did. What great looking country . . . those photos just give a person a "peaceful and contented" feeling . . .
