I have my Grandfather's rifle, a 1952 336 in 35 Remington. I'd like to take a few deer with this to honor grandpa's memory. Haven't had time to load for it yet, but I'm curious. I've heard the current 35s have "short throats". Is that true for the older ones, too? Anyone have any experience with cast boolits in one of this vintage? If so, which boolits work best for you?

I have an early '50's conventional rifled 336SC in 35 Remington. I have three .35 moulds. The RCBS 35-200 doesn't work as the nose in front of the forward driving band measures .352" on my bullets and the bore of my rifle is .3495". It takes a lot force on the lever to close the action, something which is unacceptable for hunting rifle loads. Second is the Accurate 36-210B. The nose measures .349" and the forward driving band is .060" wide and does kiss the rifling and you can feel it when closing the lever. Much easier to chamber than the RCBS but I prefer the rounds chamber like jacketed factory ammo. The 3rd mould is a LBT LCFN. This style was designed from the get go as a lever gun bullet. It chambers like factory ammo in my 35 Rem 336SC & Remington 141, and in my 358 Savage 99. It's my favorite 35 cal mould.

Depends on the rifle. One of mine feeds the rcbs 200 just fine. The other I have to seat it about .005 deeper. The Lyman 205 gr RN works fine in both. I have a 245 grain Saeco that also works.
