need a core adjustable mold in .440 cal. the core will be used to swage diff weights of bullets for sever diff. .45 cal paperpatch guns. does any one know a adjustable mold maker? i dont want to use the spring loaded core mold, i would rather use a standard mold that opens up. easier to operate. thanks before hand

Our very own Red River Rick makes adjustable paper patch moulds. I have one and it is quite nice. I don't know what you mean by "spring loaded;" all the adjustable moulds I've seen have a screw adjusted base and are nose pour. Steve Brooks may also make them (I've seen one) but most of his that I've seen are not.

found a lyman .339 round ball mould in a friends junk drawer. paid 10 dollars for it. drilled it to the depth of 1.25 with a .440 drill bit. should make a bullet about 1.35 long when swaged up. it isnt adjustable but it sure will work on my 1/18 twist .45 gun, and it only cost 10 dollars. some days are diamonds.
