DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) –Police are searching for three suspects involved in an armed robbery at Durham’s newly-opened barbecue restaurant, The Pit, at 321 W. Geer Street.

Authorities said just before 9 p.m. Sunday, three men wearing hoodies entered the restaurant through the back doors with pistols, and forced several staff members to lie on the floor. The bandits assaulted two employees during the crime, but they were not seriously injured.

This should be a clear reminder that criminals don’t obey gun laws and they don’t obey signs on windows that say that can’t bring their guns inside. These signs only stop law abiding citizens from being able to protect themselves and make the establishment a bigger target for crooks. After all, why pick a target where people can shoot back at you?

Ironically, the owner’s original “The Pit Authentic Barbecue” in Raleigh was the same restaurant that hosted part of Gabby Gifford’s anti-gun tour last year.

Stupid is as stupid does..

And that is the reason that Illinois.Carry has a list of places NOT to spend your dollars.

One member sent a corp office a copy of his receipts totaling in the 10s of K he spent LAST YEAR alone and would not be spending as long as the NO GUN sign was on their door.

A couple days later he was invited over to watch the removal of the sign along with a letter of apology and numerous gift certificates from corp.

We have to keep fighting for our 2A rights and not just say thank you for what ever CHICKEN BONES the politicians throw at us in the hope we will go away.

I will turn and walk away if the sign is up, not worth my time or money. Use to say something but that just wasted my air so just don't go now. Grocery store, what ever so the same .

I don't buy in stores where is prohibited to carry guns. In fact I feel offended every time I see those signs.

Clearly they forgot to hang the signs on the back door. That would have solved that issue.

I dont frquent many establishments that are posted some are not an option. Watch your doctors offices doors, dentist, specialists. Im disbled.handicapped and if posted and I have to go back to the car I just go somewheres else rather make the second trip in. Local Marcos was posted I went to door seen the plaq and started for the car manager came out to see what was going on I told him pointing to the plaq with my cane. He said I could ignore it I informed him I go to tanos rather than make a second trip. Got home sent e-mail to corporate head quarters about it. Next week it plaq was taken down. Not only do you need to not frequent posted buisnesses but you need to take a few minutes informing corprate head quarters why also. ALot of the stores resteraunts arnt posted under company / corporate but a local manager has deemed it fitting. Complaints regester as lost revenues in the top offices.

It is Durham. I believe it's the only county in the state that requires gun registration. I used to pass through Durham going to matches. You were supposed to get a permit to transport your firearm through town. I enjoyed driving by the police station every month with my 'illegal' firearms.

If it's not a goberment office I don't pay attention to that little sign, I go in do me business and leave.
If they don't see the gun they don't know, if they do and ask me to leave then I will.
I have turned around and left some businesses with the sign but I usually don't.

The local news just went off and the good citizens of Durham say they are tired of any racial profiling being used by the police dept. against their citizens. The police chief is Jose Lopez. You can't make this stuff up!

They should have pointed out the "No Guns" sign to the bad guys and tell them had to leave. Then they could come back and rob them with knifes or baseball bats. Give the bad guys a break they probably can't read very good and would obey the sign if they could read it.

Well I got to tell this there is a gun store in Goldsboro NC named W Ts it has a indoor shooting range and lots of firearms that are priced to stay on the shelf if you get what I am saying. My son went into the place with his side arm on his side looking to buy a new pistol. They asked him is his side arm was loaded and if so would he clear it. He thought for a min and said sure so he remove the mag and ejected the round slide the mag back in and put the round in his pocket. Then they asked him to remove the mag and empty it also so he dropped the mag locked the slide back and dropped the round in his pocket back in the tube and put the loaded mag back in. He told them look its a gun store and you do not like people having loaded guns around you ? Told them to have a great day he would be buying his new pistol at another shop along with telling everyone they are anti gun. He was speaking to the owners wife btw. And for those who need a visual this son is in the army so he is clean cut so it was not a profiling thing.

Well I bet the sign makes them fell good about themselves, most of the time.

Some of those signs are politically posted.

It has been rumored in Crook County (home of many of the largest Ins cos)that if the ins companies want to keep their property taxes low they should consider raising the premiums of businesses that do NOT post the anti 2A signs.[smilie=b:
