i've tried the search ...no joy.
is there a chart that lists the various hardness numbers of lead?
from pure lead
to to the hardest?
linotype, range scrap, soww, coww,
something that lists them all?

Don't know...I gauge mine by the "ring" or "thud" they make when I drop an ingot on the floor............LOL

You could use an alloy calculator in Microsoft Excel. Most give BHN.

The last Lyman mould i bought had instructions. This is part of it. http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n420/joe1944usa/Firearms%20%20and%20%20Reloading/AlloyBlending1.jpg Other charts will be a little different, as wheel weight alloy is not always the same.
The same chart 243winxb posted is in my Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook, 3rd Edition. Excellent text to have when casting/shooting/loading lead bullets...
