I wonder how they handled with the 1" Gattling?

Why aren't the 1" bores more popular these days? I'd like to have a cannon. Not a hand cannon like those (unless as a collector piece)

I would prefer a scoped version ...

It kills on one end and maims on the other. Or maybe it kills on both.

the big pile of still burning powder probably provides a nice shotgun effect for cluse up shots

Yep, that .577 Express derringer would be quite the pocket gun. Gamblers could keep it tucked up a sleeve.

And the 5.5 velo version is a pound heavier. Must help with the recoil from that HUGE cartridge.

These pictures are from an old tattered First edition Book (Firearms Curiosa). There are some weird and wonderful gun designs.I thought these imaginary drawings would give a laugh to the forum.Other articles and Photos are of actual Firearms that have front and back pointing barrels so that after the first shot the barrel is turned,I can imagine firing shot no1 and both going off or the Turret Pistols and Rifles with the Cylinder mouths pointing in all directions.

This Guy has a breast Plate containing 19 Cartridge Pistols that flip up when a string is pulled. In his Right hand he has a cutlass Pistol,in his left hand he has a pair of stirups that have pistols in them and fire backwards when fleeing from the enemy.

This Helmet Gun is U.S Patent No1,183,492 of May 16th 1916.

On the right is a Fishhook that fires when the fish bites.U.S Patent No 2,253,125 August 19th 1941.

I would think that a few stiff necks would be par for the course with the helmet.

It would be comical to build one of these that actually fired. That ".99" cartridge would have ballistics worse than a golfball and probably hit about as hard.
