Things have finally slowed down enough to get some casting in. My dad was resisting the idea of using Tin in his WW lead, so he waded through some 375248s for a big bore shoot. When he got done, there was about 13 or so pounds of WW, to which I added about 1/3 pound of Tin. Thought the bar Tin would easily break with enough flexing, but I had to take an axe to it before it reluctantly gave up.

Still a bit of technique to get under control, but I dipped all of them (bottom pour spout was froze up, so I grabbed the ladle). Some dross on top that got into the ladle spout but it didn't have too much effect. Sprue plate was loose enough to swing on it's own. Smoked em good. At first I did only one cavity, but it went so well in either one that I poured both. What sorta looks like flash is actually the shine from the boolit next to it. If you look closely at the boolit on the right, you can barely see where the halves come together. I like it.

Not bad, nothing dropped that I wouldn't use. Some frosting on the bottom half of the bullets, but good fill. Makes me wonder what happens when you drop the hammer and 16-20 K pounds is applied to the base. Any simple deficiencies in the base of the boolit would get slump to fill it.

Noses look good. Looks to mic about .358/.359, might not have to size at all.

Left to right, rounded base, inclusion of dross, incomplete fill, rounded base. A few had tearing of the sprue, didn't wait long enough for it to harden.

That is a very accurate boolit in every .38 or .357 I have fired them in. Mine drop very close to 200 grs.

Well behaved mold, except I was getting used to ladle pours. Had some that did not have much of a puddle for the bullet to draw on when it cooled. Not 100% content with the bases, expect more practice should help. Filling the cavity closer to the hinge, then the farther one. This keeps the sprue plate from swinging when filling the second cavity. Next pot should be WW plus about 2% tin (SWAG).

Would this be a good choice for 200mtr revolver shooting?. Pat

Rushing in where angels fear to tread... Depends on the OAL. 357 or 357 Max? They mention the RCBS 200 grainer as being shorter (nose shape).
