I was thinking of making a lee 1000 into a 300 blackout processing machine. I see the 1000's for sale cheap and I thought they might be a good candidate for this. I would not need the primer feed or powder measure so I thought I could find one cheap! Any thoughts? This way I would not dirty up my Dillion's with brass chips!

I don't think you would have any issues using a Lee 1000 Pro.

Using the Dillon 1200 with the vacuum attached doesn't make any kind of mess at all.

Cool! Now to track down a cheap donor press

Mine is permanently on a lee single station, I don't see why a 1000 wouldn't work. I bought a cheap micro-shop vac for mine. It is noisy but chip free.

As longhill stated the manifold sucks out almost all of the chips. In any case it would be a lot faster if you have a 650 or 1050 to trim on it and clean the press when your done. You can size/deprime and trim well over 1000 cases an hour on a 650 (like closer to 1800/hr).

I have twin 650's I was just worried about all the brass dust ect. I figured I could adapt one of my case feeders to the lee on a mount.
