My wife had been looking for a small concealeable handgun and she deceided on the 238 also. She is able to operate the slide with no issues compared to most of the other 380's had very difficult slides to pull back. It shoots fine. I haven't been home enough to cast anything yet but I'm sure I can find a combo for it.

My wife carries one daily, and so do I. Great little miniature 1911's. Neither of ours has ever failed to feed and fire, and for small handguns, they're pretty accurate.

Hope this helps.

Very nice! I'm not really a 1911 fan but the 238 and the Colt Mustang have always been the exception.

Sig P238 is a great shooter, but not a big fan of 1911's. Sold my Colt New Agent 9mm but still have my Colt Defender 45 and love my wives Kimber Super Carry Pro. Favorite is still my Sig P220 Equinox 45. Personally, I would not CC a 1911 'cocked & locked'. I carry a Ruger LCP or Ruger LCR 357. To each their own...

I got this for when I'm on motorcycle and days my e-series 5" 1911 seems little big... and I think wife and daughter will enjoy it

I've always enjoyed the P238. I bought one when they came out and it was nice. I just found something I like mo betta and down the road it went.

I have a friend who has one - a lady and she's on the petite side - and she is downright serious with it when she shoots it. By that, I mean that I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of it when it was in her hand as she can really lay them in to "central mass".

I have shot it and I think it's a great handgun. Very reliable and no issues at all with it. I'm more of a revolver guy and I love my 38s but if I was looking for a good .380 carry piece - it would be one to the top handguns on my list.

Congrats on your new Sig - you are going to really enjoy it!

I also bought one of the sig 238s very early on. mostly due to several things I found optimal. First was the size / weight, second was the ergonomics of the pistol ( it just felt right in my hand all the controls were reachable and easily used) the sights unlike most smaller carry tupe guns were tritium and useable not the small nubs alot have. I have been very happy with the firearm and its performed great since day one. Accuracy is way better than you would expect with a small a carry gun

Love mine. Nice carry 380 that is fun to shoot. Perfect fit for my kids hands. Took a while for me to reconcile carrying cocked and locked, but the right holster and a better understanding of the pertinent issues helped.

Congrats...Make sure it has the flat recoil spring.

Lee 102@356 w/50-50 and red dot is good to go.

Cocked and locked isn't something the p238 does. Cocked with safety on is fine but it don't "lock". I have no problems with carrying them cocked with the safety on in a holster that protects the safety from being inadvertently swept off.

I have the stainless version, a bit heavier but shoots well and almost no recoil

FWIW, I read a magazine article 2 or3 years ago on half a dozen makes and models of .380 acp. It was probably in the American Rifleman, as I read the "others" very infrequently. One difficulty experienced with all of them is that, "as a general rule", all manufacturers assemble their guns with very tight tolerances. When new, during the break in period, they must be run wet. Don't spare the lube. Don't choose between oil or grease, use both. If you don't know what galling is, check out some pictures on the web.

I love mine by the way, so much so that I bought one for my city girl daughter. I need to work out a different holster solution though. The commotion caused by retrieving a pistol from the seated position cries out

105932 Popular enough that they made a 9mm? P938, love this one.

The 238 will not fire unless the trigger is pulled. It has a firing pin safety that stops movement of the firing pin until the trigger is pulled. The thumb safety stops the trigger from being pulled. How is this less safe than a Glock that fires when the trigger is pulled? Isn't the 238 with the safety off about the same as a Glock?
