Got rained out at work on Thursday, so I didn't make much money. But boy, did I spend it! Cruised to a couple of LGS's and found a 4 pound jug of Red Dot, and two one pounders of Unique. One of the shops had THREE Marlin 1894's. They were part of a bunch of guns the shop bought as part of an ATF seizure. One of the Marlins were blued, and the other two stainless. I bought the stainless one with the JM proofmark. The other two were REP marked. With tax, I had less than $600 in it, new, made in 2009.

My plan is to have the barrel re-bored and chambered to 45Colt for commonality with my revolvers. Would also like to specify a tighter chamber. Will definitely have to massage the trigger, too.

If anyone is interested, Palmetto State Armory in Columbia, S.C. may have the other two left. Price on the blued one was around $450.
