I had traded my LGS a case of 22 ammo I had bought years ago for $120 or $140, I cant remember. Anyhow, It's been sitting and collecting some major dust and I had plenty of 22 ammo on reserve. With 22 ammo hitting the shelves with more regularity, I figured I'd off load it for a cheap caliber to reload for and find a companion to my Marlin 1894cs. I had originally wanted a GP-100. I've been patiently waiting and had found a 6" model, but no 4" model (my favorite handgun barrel length on a revolver). I originally wanted a GP-100 for 2 reasons. 1. I love my ruger handguns. 2. My mother has my Smith 586 pulling nightstand duty. That being said, I am also a strong aficianado of the Blackhawk. I've been perusing SportsSouth, Zanders, etc for the past month. Nothing.......until I happened upon this at Davidson's

Should be here tuesday. Gonna work on some load development this weekend. I'm also gonna steal back my 586 and loan my Ruger P-89 to my mother. Gotta take her shooting to familiarize her with it.

If anyone has any proven recipes, I'm all ears.

My molds currently include:

Lyman 358429
MP 357-125 (if I can get it to work. It drops right at 357 and may not work. It's my 9mm boolit)
MP 360-180
NOE 358429

I also have a box of blemished 125gr XTP with about 350-400 left.

358429 over 5 gr of Unique in 38 special cases. Throws down pie plate size groups (8-10 inches) at 100 yds from a 4 inch Model 28 with startling regularity.

While I don't have unique, I should be able to get by with 296, 231, hs6, lil gun, TrailBoss, aa9, 2400 and blue dot.

If the 125 cast fits the throats it can make up into a great mid-range load. It conserves lead and a midrange load is also easier on the powder. Of course you want to see iti the same load works in the 1894cs.

No such thing as to many 357's. Next to the 41 the 357 is a close second at my house. Congrats. Al

Add in a good 45 colt or two and I'd say great minds think alike!

Matter of fact just bought a Ruger Bisley in 45 colt with the 45 acp cylinder. Im real anxious to shoot that gun and see how I like it. I sure do like how it feels in my hand. Al

You're gonna love it. I had one but had to let it go. I wish I still had it. Curiously, I NEVER touched the acp cylinder. And only ran maybe 3 cylinders worth through it. I had big plans for it.....maybe next time around.

Thats really why I bought it to begin with. I have a JM 625 Smith that I love to shoot. 45 acp in the wheel gun is fun. I know I will shoot both cylinders alot. Al

Preliminary pictures. Won't have a chance to shoot her soon, but I'll toss up some glamour shots when I do with a full detailed report.
