After weeks of casting, and testing and chronographing loads in my ex-mil clunkers, today I moved things to another test rifle; a Springfield 30.06 still with military action, trigger and barrel, but a sporting stock and a Nikko Stirling 3x9 scope. Not a heavy bench rifle or modern sporter by any means!

After hundreds of rounds, I had established that the most accurate cast boolit load was 32.5gns of 2206 and the Lyman 311284 gas checked boolit. I fired 4 x 10 shot groups today, two had 9 rounds under an inch and 7 under an inch, AND these two beauties :onya:

8 rounds under 0.5MOA :boogie:

There is a lot of satisfaction knowing that I cast them sized them, loaded them and finally shot 2 x sub-MOA 10 shot groups with them :onya:

For those interested, burn rate of 2206 is about equivalent to US powders BLC(2) & AA2230, according to ADI.

WELL DONE SIR!!! Sub MOA with Cast Boolits is definitely an accomplishment. And it is definitely something we don't see everyday here.

Pics of the gun?
