Hey all. I was tryin to size and deprime some 9mm and noticed that the end of the brass is sized smaller then the rest of it. I have the die set so its flush with the shell holder. What am i missing or doing wrong? thx in advance.

Which end? The 9mm P is a tapered case...

Looks OK to me.The Neck diameter is supposed to be 9.65 mm (0.380 in) and the base should be 9.93 mm (0.391 in)
The Case length shoud be 19.15 mm (0.754 in). Hope this helps.

The case neck has the little ridge that you can see in the pic. The cases are strait before i size them. the whole case goes into the die but the mouth seems like its downsized.

I can't see the case that well but it looks suspiciously like it has been sized in a .357 sig die.

This is my 1st time using this die. Got the set off of a member a few yrs back and just got a setup to where i can start reloading. I think it might be the carbide issue. After you posted i took out the piece that holds the primer pin looked into it and seen a ring. On the side one side the ring it looks a lil chewed up. Guess i got a bad set.

Not being a smart adz, but it would help if we had the proper nomenclature (in this case the OP's problem was figured out)...

Don't have a good pic, but mebbe this will help. https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search;_ylt=A86.JyFsKXZT0nIAvXgPxQt.;_ylc=X1MDMjEx NDcwMDU1OQRfcgMyBGJjawMybGsyNjcxOWxpbHRmJTI2YiUzRD QlMjZkJTNESDhyWFlEQnBZRUp0Q2h5d25IbWtDeTZxMEJIVTJO NXdIdmdrWFEtLSUyNnMlM0Q5OSUyNmklM0Qzc1lGcnRQSmVMMV NDSi5QbXRkMQRmcgN5aHMtYXR0LWF0dF9kaWFsBGdwcmlkA1ou bllxdDl4UTZlRVZKUWxCRnlCWUEEbXRlc3RpZANudWxsBG5fcn NsdAMxMARuX3N1Z2cDMTAEb3JpZ2luA3NlYXJjaC55YWhvby5j b20EcG9zAzAEcHFzdHIDBHBxc3RybAMEcXN0cmwDMjAEcXVlcn kDY2FydHJpZGdlIGNhc2UgcGFydHMEdF9zdG1wAzE0MDAyNTI4 MTI2MzkEdnRlc3RpZANudWxs?gprid=Z.nYqt9xQ6eEVJQlBFy BYA&pvid=w.PiBDIwNi4q0EY4U1lXrwhTNTAuM1N2KWz_3HYo&p=cartridge+case+parts&fr2=sb-top&hspart=att&hsimp=yhs-att_dial&type=sbc_dial A cartridge case has these parts; from the open end, mouth, neck, shoulder, body, head, extractor groove (on some cases), and rim at the primer end.

I've seen that several times in 9MM X 19MM cases; especially in some of the older cases. Seems that the wall thickness may be a little greater in some than others. Go ahead and run it thru your mouth expander and seat a bullet----end of problem!! Shootem!!!!

Look inside the die. Is it smooth, or is there a step? If there is a step, it
may be made wrong or a .357 Sig die. If no step, lube well and size a case
until the die hits the shell holder and look at it. 9mm Para is tapered but not
stepped.
