Tell her to order her own rifle the way she want's it, and you order yours the way you want it.

Ding. Ding. We have a winner.

I'm hoping to order a Shiloh 1874 in a couple of months and begin the waiting game. Mine will have an antique finish.

The wait is the best part of it, You know exactly what your getting roughly when it will come and its all what you want. I counted days waiting on the hepburn to get here. Talk to her and then decide. Therealways this years aniversary presnt to think of, LOL. If its one of the majors 25 50 75 That could easily be worked into the engraving on hers possibly. Just remeber the lead time in having it done.

It's your rifle, so order it how you want it. The antique finish is beautiful and would be my choice as well, with some of the fancier wood they offer.

If she still gripes, tell her that IF she is nice you MIGHT let her shoot it.

It took me a while when I ordered my 74#1 Creedmoor which way to go. After looking at a bunch I went with the French Gray because it showed the engraving better. But after I got it I gave it to my Daughter because it was more of a girly gun than what I like using. :D

Well my rifle is only an original RB that has been much rebuilt. The engraver and I looked long and hard at the action before sending it off for color case hardening. Both of us really like the way the vine and leaf scroll work shows off the various shades and tones of color in different light.

Oh and it shoots very well too!

I have to side with Don here, have her order hers the way she wants.

and Lead Pot.........You GAVE it to her? She must wash dishes a lot better than my daughter! (of course I gave my son a '70 Plymouth GTX for a wedding present, so I understand about kids, I am going to have to buy at least two more Sharps before I did just to make sure they burry me, and not just throw me in the ditch!)

Don. :) I call any fancy rifles Girly guns. Better than calling then Parlor P....guns :)
My Daughter shoots with me and she out shoots me with that .45-70 so I just told her it's yours.
That wood was ordered as the extra fancy so it would have a little less figure in the wrist for strength with the AA finish.

Doc.

No she never was much of a dishwasher either :)
Let me tell you a little about Her. That little Gal is a 10 year tagalong behind our youngest son and she always wanted to do what he and I did so she started at a very young age shooting with us. She adapted very well to my old 39 Marlin where she could roll a tin pop or a soup can across the yard by the time she was 8 when she could hold that rifle off hand.
On Her Honeymoon she drug her Husband to the Quigley so she could shoot the Q with me. Now don't that warrant her to have that girly gun??

Maybe you should order another one and get one of each that way you both will be happy. How long is the wait for one now? Al

Not to many I have a long range express in the safe in a 45-100 that I was thinking of selling and mine told me not to sell it. I haven't shot it in about 8 or nine years so I guess it will just rest there for awhile. Has a MVA buffalo soule long range site on the rear and an MVA windage adjustable globe on the front. Stock is extra fancy and has a real nice piece of wood on it. Kind of a shame really. But not many woman would tell you to hang on to that either. Al

Leadpot, ifn I was her husband, I think I would have some concerns for my health. Sounds like you raised a good one, even if she will have to eat out of dirty dishes!
