I have Rossi .454 20" rifle. My normal load for it is 8gr of Unique pushing a 250gr/.454 cast boolit.

I find that I have more .454 Casull cases than .45 Colt now.

If I load 8gr of Unique under my 250gr booolit in a .454 Casull case will I get similar results in my rifle? The only changes are - case length, 1/10" longer for the Casull case, and small rifle primer vs large pistol.
I'm thinking that seating the boolit further out in the bore will improve accuracy too.

I value the input I get here...see any issues using the longer cases?

My experience is that the 454 Casull case requires judicious loading. Simply substituting a 45 Colt load will not necessarily produce satisfactory results. This is a big case that can be troublesome. I recommend against shortcuts. Exercise due diligence.

Good advice, thank you.

Got lucky and found another 50 .45 Colt cases. I'll save the Casull cases for hunting loads.

Thanks
