Well I got to the range and shot my Rem cased 60 gr Swags at 200 yards! And the verdict is in - if you want accurate Swags -use one manufactures case to make your bullets if you want consistent bullet performance! I figured better grouping- conditions were just about the same as the first target. Wind blowing almost exactly the same, direction and speed! I like the Rem cases as they seem to do better in my rifles. I will test others as well -who knows I might get a surprise? Next up will be Win cases, 60 gr . As for this target- I'll take this kind of accuracy all day long at 200 for an 16" AR, 18 on paper two just off paper high right -shot as 4 -5 shot strings!

Nice shooting Gunnut, can't beat the amount you can play around with different combinations when swaging. Now if a manufacturer will just come out with a headstamp for a .22 that is just a bullseye target and nothing else.

Yea can't wait to get a nice calm day to see what these swags can really do. I'm sure that group would shrink quite a bit.

Thanks for posting as I continue to learn. I have taken mine out to 250 and hit the steel target and am happy as can be but my grouping can be much improved. I plan to sort some brass by headstamp and see if improvement can be made.

Yea for general (Close) target prcatice ie 100 yards and in there really is no need to sort by maker but if your wanting to shoot 200 yards plus sorting by maker an trimming for consistant length will greatly improve groups. I'm new to the swagging game but not new to shooting/reloading. I want my swags to be just as good as most store bought bullets which they are . Are they going set match records? Probably not, but they will do anything I need them to do in my rifles. I don't shoot AR's just to plink at 25 yards. I want to know they can and will perform out to the cartridges potential. If all I wanted was a 25 yard plinker I'd just shoot 22LR.

I find my 56-57gr swaged are every bit as accurate as factory 55gr FMJ. Since that is what I plink with, good enough for me. If I want 200-300yd groups, I am still shooting match grade bullets. I will test some next time I get to the rifle range though, just because.

When I first received my dies from Brian, I was not sure about the whole process and wanted to get some rounds downrange for evaluation purposes. I was pleasantly surprised. My techniques of bleeding the cores can be improved upon to achieve a more accurate weight. I had to pack up my equipment soon after receiving the dies. I am now in the process of setting up my shop and it would not be that big of a process to sort out the head stamps. I am not a bench rest shooter but want to continue to improve my shooting and swaging skills. This is another way in which I can easily find some added consistency.

Yea I found my Savage likes 55 gr Swags the best either in the Rems or CCI's. Unfortunately I don't find as many of them as I'd like mostly Feds and Wins. Both my AR's like heavier bullets the 1:9" likes 60gr and the 1:7" likes 64 gr. which is the max for 22LR's!

All my AR are 1-7, they do ok with 55gr, better with 62gr. I may try to make some closer to 62gr next run. I am quite happy shooting the bullets I have now, plenty accurate for AR shooting out to 200. at least on steel. This was 100yds, 20" hvy, mixed jacket head stamps sorted by wt. There was about a 15mph wind but mostly at my 6.

Yea I'd say those are good to go! I don't current have a 20 " barreled AR. Had a Colt Match HBAR as my first AR. But that thing was a tank. Not a joy to carry around much. It would have shot my Swags very well I'm sure.

Mine is a 20" full bull, yes it is heavy, but it's not a patrol rilfe, more an over watch/hunting rig. It will shoot though.
